POETRY FOR PEOPLE WHO HATE POETRY:
This presentation takes a look at the current condition of poetry in America and grapples head on with the problems that readers of printed poetry (as is evidenced in relative sales) and audiences for performed poetry (outside of some poetry slams) are very small. We consider what might have driven them away, as well as what it might take to bring them back.
READINGS:
Nathan frequently gives readings for libraries, book clubs, high schools, churches, as well as for local arts organizations.
SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS:
Nathan also speaks to these same organizations about the craft of poetry, the creative process, and what it means to be a poet and artist in contemporary American culture.
